Taking Steps

From 24 March to 29 May 1010, Alan Ayckbourn will revive his classic farce Taking Steps at the Orange Tree, Richmond. This will be the first time he has directed the play in London. Taking Steps is unusual in that it is Alan Ayckbourn's only foray into true farce and it was specifically written for performance in the round.

Over the next eight weeks, Image Of The Week will look at Taking Steps, first by returning to Alan Ayckbourn's acclaimed 1990 revival at the Stephen Joseph Theatre In The Round, Scarborough. This production featured a remarkable cast of Michael Gambon, Ken Stott, Adam Godley, Claire Skinner, Elizabeth Bell and Rupert Vansittart.

The images featured during March are all by the theatre photographer Adrian Gatie of the 1990 revival and have never previously been published on Alan Ayckbourn's Official Website.
