  Title Of Alan Ayckbourn's New Play Revealed With Performance Dates (updated 30/06/08)

  The title of Alan Ayckbourn's 72nd play has been confirmed as Awaking Beauty. It is a collaboration with composer Denis King (who Alan previously worked on with Whenever and Orvin - Champion Of Champions. It is described as "a contemporary twist on a fairy tale complete with sexual fantasy and lust!" The play, to be directed by Alan Ayckbourn, will be running in The Round at the Stephen Joseph Theatre from 11 December 2008 to 17 January 2009 and tickets will go on sale from 31 July.   Woman In Mind Confirmed For The Stephen Joseph Theatre (Updated 30/06/08)    
  Further details about Alan Ayckbourn's revival of Woman In Mind have been confirmed. Janie Dee will be playing the role of Susan in the Ayckbourn-directed revival at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough, which will run between 4 September - 4 October, 2008. Click here for more details.    
  Full Cast Now Confirmed For The Norman Conquests At The Old Vic (updated 23/06/08)    
  The full cast for the revival of The Norman Conquests at the Old Vic in September has now been confirmed with the addition of Ben Miles in the role of Tom. He will join Stephen Mangan, Jessica Hynes, Paul Ritter, Amelia Bullmore and Amanda Root in the production to be directed by Matthew Warchus, which will see the Old Vic auditorium converted into an in-the-round space. The plays are running from  11 September to 20 December and tickets are available now (tickets for the Trilogy Days go on sale to the general public on 1 July).   Cast confirmed for Absurd Person Singular revived tour (updated 23/06/08)    
  The cast of the touring revival of 2007's acclaimed West End production of Absurd Person Singular has now been confirmed. The cast comprises Sara Crowe, Matthew Cottle, Honeysuckle Weeks, Marc Bannerman, Deborah Grant and David Griffin. The tour is being directed by Alan Strachan, who directed the West End revival to great acclaim.   Productions Section Improved (updated 09/06/08)    
  The productions section of the website has had an overhaul in order to make it clearer and more concise. The production listings pages have been re-organised and major productions of Alan's plays (generally Ayckbourn directed productions, West End and major tours) now have specific pages with in-depth details about each production. The website continues to welcome all submissions of forthcoming professional and amateur productions of Alan Ayckbourn's plays.    
  Relatively Speaking tour (updated 01/06/08)    
  A touring production of Relatively Speaking will be launched by the Theatre Royal, Bath, in June. Alan Strachan, responsible for last year's acclaimed West End revival of Absurd Person Singular and tour of How The Other Half Loves, will direct Peter Bowles, Diane Fletcher, Robin Whitling and Siobahn Hewlett. A full schedule has not been released but the tour will visit Bath, Newcastle, Milton Keynes, Plymouth, Norwich, Richmond and Eastbourne. Click here for more details.    
  The Things That Go Bump season at the Stephen Joseph Theatre (updated 10/04/08)    
  Details of Alan Ayckbourn's final summer season as Artistic Director have been confirmed. He will direct the world premiere of his new play Life And Beth and the revival of Snake In The Grass. Richard Derrington will direct the revival of Haunting Julia. The latter will star Ian Hogg, Adrian McLoughlin and Richard Stacey and will be in repertory from 22 May to 23 August. Snake In The Grass will star Susie Blake, Liza Goddard and Ruth Gibson and will be in repertory from 5 June to 22 August. The two casts will unite for Life And Beth which will be in repertory from 17 July to 30 August. Follow-up talks are scheduled and are listed in the Calendar section and all the directors and cast will be involved in a series of question and answer sessions, details of which can be found at the Stephen Joseph Theatre's website. Tickets are on sale to the public from 12 April.    
  The Things That Go Bump tour to New Vic Theatre (Updated 10/04/08)    
   The Stephen Joseph Theatre brochure confirms all three of The Things That Go Bump plays (Haunting Julia, Snake In The Grass & Life And Beth) will tour to the New Vic Theatre, Newcastle-under-Lyme between 3 - 20 September 2008. No further details are currently available.    
  50th Anniversary (updated 08/01/08)    
  Although a year away, 2009 marks the 50th anniversary of Alan Ayckbourn's debut as a playwright. On 30 July 1959, The Square Cat was premiered at the Library Theatre, Scarborough.
